1. A Hydrogen-Oxygen rocket that can use Oxygen from the air when in lower atmosphere, from on-board tanks only when higher - if this works, single stage to orbit spaceplanes may be possible!
I can almost hear it “… before the decade is out, to send tourists to space hotels, and return them safely to airport arrival terminals. … we choose to do this, and to solve the zero-g in-flight peanut problem, not because they are easy but because they are cool.”
